Eli Excelsior Pandarus[1][2] is a magical wizard.
History[]
Pandarus is the Wizard of Wall Street and desires to be the most powerful magical being. He is first seen working with a couple of Troll henchmen, plotting to steal gold from Leprechauns[3]. In Season 1, Pandarus is fairly cowardly, as he cowers and begs not to be hurt after he is defeated[4]. In Season 2, he appears less cowardly and is much more wicked, being more willing to kill his enemies and those who get in his way[5].
Pandarus's Manhattan headquarters are located in the luxurious Pandarus Towers.
Episodes[]
- The Heist (first appearance)
- Eye of the Beholder
- A Befuddled Mind (final appearance)
Trivia[]
- Jonathan Freeman, who voiced Pandarus, also voiced Jafar in Aladdin, and in Season 2, he starts to act much like Jafar did in the first sequel.
- While his new appearance in season 2 could be written off as a retcon, it can also be explained in-universe as his way of reinventing his image after his former public humiliations, namely by taking a boost in power, getting in shape, acting more confident, and dropping his 'villain with good publicity' image to embrace his wickedness openly. This is strengthened by the fact he not only changed his appearance, wardrobe and personality but also broke ties with almost everything associated with the failures of his past, including his former allies like Monty Hall.
- He is theorized by Spud and then confirmed by his own words to be a direct descendant of Pandora from Greek folklore, as only her bloodline are capable of opening up Pandora's box and he mentions it being passed down his family for generations.
- His season 1 design, status as a billionaire CEO who resides in New York in a luxurious tower named after himself who owns a chain of hotels is very likely based on Donald Trump in the mid 2000's. This is later referenced again when he takes over the Manhattan Genius Institute, a reference to Trump University.
- Despite appearing on the red carpet and photo ops with female guests, when indoors he does not actually sit with them and they do not acknowledge him, implying they may be hired to pretend to be his dates for show to promote what Fu-Dog describes as his 'billionaire, jet-setting playboy' public image. His disinterest in them in also hinted at by the fact that he acts very misogynistic toward women, and also that he not only had no issue with marrying another male for his plot but didn't even seem surprised or displeased by the revelation that 'Fuella' was actually the male Fu-Dog.
