American Dragon Jake Long

The main theme music of the Disney Channel original animated television series American Dragon: Jake Long. The theme music's title is "The Chosen One", was written and composed by Billy Lincoln, Kat Green and Michael Gurley. It is performed by Mavin in Season 1 and by the Jonas Brothers in Season 2 alongside the series' voice actors.

Intro[]

The Season 1 intro zooms into apartments in Manhattan, New York, and Jake is picking up his skateboard. He rides out of his apartment, tripping up his parents and sister. Trixie and Spud are outside his apartment, and witness him crash into trash cans and covered in mud by a taxi.

It then cuts to Jake at his middle school, and as he skates by, he gets distracted by Rose. He falls into a truck before converting to his dragon form. It transitions to Fu Dog and Luong Lao Shi in the park, where Jake skates in. Jake's villains prepare to attack him.

Jake becomes a dragon, and Rose (as the Huntsgirl) pulls his tail, causing him to burn Fu Dog and his grandpa with his fire breath. He then flies and see his fantasy friends, before being roped into apartments' clothespin. Miscellaneous clips from Season 1 are featured.

Jake then falls into a band performing in front of an audience, and the series' logo pops up. Jake begins rapping about himself as Haley, Fu Dog, and his friends play instruments. Rose walks the stage, about to kiss Jake, before cutting to Jake holding a mop and Luong Lao Shi yells for Jake to get back to work. Jake is disappointed, says his signature "Aw man!" before hitting the series' logo as a gong with his mop, transitioning to the title.

Season 2[]

The Jonas Brothers recorded Season 2's theme music. The Season 2 intro was modified from Season 1 to fit the new animation style, adding billed credits.

The intro cuts from the cold open and shows a Chinese dragon coming to life. It scrolls down to a forest in Manhattan, New York. Jake, in his dragon form, flies alongside magical creatures, such as unicorns and leprechauns.

Jake then enters his room, transforms back into his human form. He's seen by his parents, but they're fine with it. He also ruffles Haley before jumping into the camera.

The intro transitions to Jake skateboarding with Fu Dog on a leash, before leaving the latter at a hot dog stand and skateboarding to his school. He passes by some classmates before exiting the school with Trixie and Spud on his side, before transforming back into a dragon. A shot then shows the Huntsclan and Jake fighting, as his grandfather transform into his dragon form. The two fly in the sky as Jake crashes into a pole.

A credits screen shows up with scenes from the episode in the background. The intro cuts to Jake in his grandfather's house, trying to balance two water buckets, with Fu Dog on his head. A fairy sits on his nose and he falls down, spilling the water and ending the intro.

Lyrics[]

The lyrics between the Season 1 and Season 2 intros are basically the same, although some lines have been modified for Season 2. Those modifications are minor and almost unnoticeable, although Jake's solo was rewritten completely, but remained stays close to the same concept as the original version.
