Veronica the Arachne

Veronica is a female Arachne, a half human/half spider. She works as a merchant at a stand in the Magus Bazaar selling magical items[1]. Upon their first encounter, Jake was taken by surprise to discover her arachnid lower half. Fu was trying to help Jake find a date for a school dance and tried to get him to ask her as he thought Jake might be into girls with legs. However, Jake had a little problem with Veronica's "eight hairy spider legs".

Veronica was one of Fu's many "lady" friends, and apparently one of his still-active love interests. She made another appearance as an entry in the Miss Magical World Beauty Pageant to help provide Jake and company cover for their mission[2].

Veronica's first appearance in the show

Veronica was also seen in three other episodes[3][4][5], where she phoned Fu with a warning that the Biker Trolls were back to wreck havoc. While she makes several appearances in the show, she generally did not play vital roles except for her part in the Miss Magical World Beauty Pageant as Jake's way onto Eli Pandarus' island, and in helping rescue Lao Shi from the Dark Dragon[5].

Trivia

  • Tara Strong, the voice actor of Veronica, plays Ben Tennyson's voice in the cartoon Ben10.
  • Fu says her name as "V-V-Veronica" in a suggestive and flirtatious manner[1][2].
  • Veronica is one of Fu Dog's many sources of intel from which he gets information from.
  • One time, Veronica is seen using spider webs and spinning silk[6].
  • Another time, when Jake, Fu Dog, and Lao Shi found Veronica and Fu said Jake might remember her, it was not until she stepped out from behind a crate to reveal her lower half that Jake's memory was jogged[2].
    • Later at the pageant, she fell while practicing her walk, claiming she "broke her leg". The joke behind this is she has multiple legs, so it was hard to distinguish which one was injured.
